Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 July 2026

This policy explains what personal data Luxury Index collects, why, and the rights you have over it under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

Luxury Index is an independent luxury-handbag price-comparison service, operated from the Netherlands. For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@luxury-index.com. Luxury Index is the data controller for the personal data described below.

What we collect

  • Account data. When you create an account we store your email address and an encrypted password, handled by our authentication provider (Supabase).
  • Your saved data. Items you add to your wishlist and the price and back-in-stock alerts you set, linked to your account.
  • Usage analytics. If analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-friendly, cookieless tool (Plausible) that measures aggregate traffic only — no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no individual profiles.
  • Technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) generated by our host for security and reliability.

Signed out, your wishlist and alerts are kept only in your own browser (local storage) and never reach our servers.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To run your account and sync your saved data — necessary to provide the service you asked for (contract).
  • To send the alert emails you request — on the basis of your consent, given when you set an alert. Every alert email links back to manage or stop your alerts.
  • To understand aggregate usage and keep the site secure — on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a reliable service, balanced against your privacy (which is why analytics are cookieless).

Cookies

We use only a strictly-necessary session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make Luxury Index work, each acting as our processor under a data-processing agreement:

  • Supabase — authentication and database (your account and saved data).
  • Resend — sending your alert emails.
  • Render — hosting (EU region, Frankfurt).
  • Plausible — aggregate, cookieless analytics, where enabled.

When you click through to a retailer, you leave Luxury Index and that retailer (and its affiliate network) processes your data under its own privacy policy.

International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete your account, and your wishlist and alerts until you remove them. Server logs are retained only as long as needed for security and reliability.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can delete your account and all associated data yourself from your account page, or email privacy@luxury-index.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in the Netherlands, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Changes

We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version. Material changes will be noted on this page.
